B.P. Biscuits

 
 

 

 
 

2 cups sifted flour
3 teaspoons B.P. [baking powder]
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons spry [shortening]
2/3 cup milk (about)

Sift flour with B.P. & salt

cut in Spry till mixture is as fine as meal

add milk mixing to a soft dough

kneed lightly 20 seconds

roll to 1/2" thickness

cut with cutter and place in pan

bake in very hot oven (450°) 12 min

make 1 doz biscuits.

 

Cheese Quickies

add 3/4 cup cheese grated to Spry mixture

add 1 cup milk mixing to soft dough

drop from spoon on Pan and bake.

 

Drop Biscuits

use 3/4 cup milk instead of 2/3 cup and drop from spoon on pan
